Cleats and synthetic materials

I’m from the UK and trying to customise cleats (football boots) but I’m stuck as to what types of paints to use for different fabrics. I know angelus does a huge range on leather panels but how about mesh synthetics and so on.  Any ideas?

If you are painting flexible mesh or synthetic fabrics, I would give this a try: Angelus Fabric Medium Additive.  It helps the paint bond to the fabric without hardening or becoming rigid.  Another option is using the professional grade airbrush sold by Angelus, which creates a thinner layer of paint and won't cause unsightly globs.  But airbrushes are a relatively expensive tool, and buying one might not make sense if you're just doing a couple pairs of cleats.
